The Sacramento Zoo has welcomed a new male lion to the “pride”. Kamau comes to Sacramento from the San DiegoWildAnimalPark where he was born in July 2006. Kamau is now out on exhibit with the Sacramento Zoo’s female lion. |  | Toys for Tots Daily in December: 10 am to 4 pm

A beautiful menagerie of hand-carved, hand-painted, wooden carousel animals are on their way to the Sacramento Zoo. The Conservation Carousel will open in the Spring of 2009. Sponsorships available starting January 5, 2009.

Who we are!
Open since 1927, the Sacramento Zoo is home to over 140 native, rare and endangered species and is one of over 200 accredited institutions of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Zoo is wholly managed by the nonprofit Sacramento Zoological Society and inspires conservation awareness through education and recreation. Submit your photo!
